Claude is Anthropic's AI assistant. You can use it to write, think through problems, summarize, explain and much more. Here is how to get comfortable with it.
Getting started
Begin with something small and real: a message you need to draft, a document you want summarized, or a concept you want explained. Talk to Claude as you would to a capable colleague, and read the answer with a critical eye.
Writing good prompts
A good prompt says what you want, why you want it and who it is for. Add any background Claude cannot guess, such as the tone, the length or an example of what good looks like. Clear context usually beats clever wording.
Improving the answer
Your first reply is a starting point. Ask Claude to shorten it, change the tone, explain its reasoning or try another approach. Conversation is the tool: keep refining until the result fits.
Checking the work
Claude can make mistakes, so check facts, figures and anything important before you rely on them. Treat it as a strong assistant that still needs your judgment.
